character.” After college, Moye dedicated 21 years to serving as a Massachusetts State Trooper, protecting lives and upholding justice. While on duty, his love for the game never faded. For over 15 years, he coached at multiple levels, shaping young athletes both as players and as people. His resume includes coaching positions at Jacksonville State University, Auburn University, the University of Hartford, and Holyoke Community College, among others.
At Jacksonville State University, he served as First Assistant Coach, overseeing player development, recruitment, team strategy, and game preparation. At Auburn University, he worked as an Administrative Assistant and Film Exchange Coordinator, mastering the art of game analysis and player scouting. He also made his mark in professional basketball, leading the Springfield Slamm to an Eastern Basketball Alliance (EBA) championship in its inaugural season.
Moye’s coaching philosophy extends beyond winning games—he is committed to building men of character. “Talent alone doesn’t make a team win, nor will talent always make the best team. I want to attract student-athletes who are determined to achieve in all areas of their lives, while providing competitive and successful teams that will make a successful program.”
His leadership is grounded in faith, discipline, and perseverance. Whether on the basketball court or in life, Moye believes in being prepared, working hard, and always competing. He has guided countless student-athletes toward success, pushing them to be the best versions of themselves—not just as players, but as people.
Now, with a wealth of wisdom and experience, Moye is ready to return to coaching, bringing a renewed vision and a deep passion for mentoring the next generation of athletes. He believes in inspiring young men to chase excellence, both on and off the court, and to become leaders who leave a lasting impact.
As he often says, “I will always compete. I will lead, and I will listen when I need to. My players will be successful, and then I am successful.”
