The Harvest

In part 1 of Mars the Planet for the Dead the question was, which should come first, similar to the old chicken or the egg, the worlds quest for colo nizing Mars or survival of the explorers sent to begin the colonization pro cess? The regenerated life forms began to be assimilated by the planet’s host, the Martians. For one purpose and one purpose only, to be used as fodder for their invasion of earth. The Harvest is now the problem stemming from these new regenerated former earthlings now half Martians returning to the earth. When the mission finally returned to earth they realize that they have been gone for over 100 years. And society has been all but destroyed when they landed in Central Park in New York City. Now in survival mode the returning Mars mission survivors embark on a mis sion to first secure their means of continual survival and then to uncover what has happened to the human race. While each crew member is assigned a special intelligence gathering grid un beknownst to the crew one member has developed their own survival and intelligence plan, that does not include them. Their plan focuses on reani mating and recruiting the planets dead to take over the planet as well as con tacting their own planet for reinforcements to invade and takeover earth. The problem is their planet does not have the capability of traveling the dis tance to earth as quickly as they would like for fear some other alien race may have the same idea and greater capabilities. The transportation problem is worked out and as the plan is put into action both the alien invaders and the surviving members of the planet’s holocaust find themselves with an entirely bigger problem in the Harvest of the planet for the Dead.
